In Muske's poem "Epith" the important theme is that nothing fits in the narrator's relationship. The poem is about a wedding, which should be joyous and a time of celebration, but this is not the mood that is perceived when reading this poem. There is no happiness in the relationship which is about to become a marriage. They really aren't compatible. I think that this poem reflects many common problems in marriage today. Although most people are happy on their wedding day the feelings often don't last. Many people can relate to this feeling of unhappiness. The speaker in this poem is making sacrifices and changing her life plan, but the relationship still isn't working out. What else doesn't fit in the speaker's life? - bga-c bga-c Mar 13, 2008
